It is safest to put your baby to sleep in the same room as you, but do not put them in your bed. Instead, place them in a crib or Pack ‘n Play next to your bed for easy access to them in case they need you. To keep them warm, use pajamas and a wearable blanket.

Keep the crib free from loose blankets, toys, diapers, and other supplies. Follow this advice for naps and for nighttime. Remember the ABC’s of safe sleep: Always place your baby Alone on their Back in a Crib.

Place your baby in an approved care seat, facing backward in the backseat. Make sure your baby has clothing that covers their wound and prevents rubbing.

Keep your baby’s belly button clean and dry. Do not use lotions or alcohol around the site. Call your doctor if it gets swollen or red. Most stumps will fall off after 4 weeks
